  • Converting a 316i to a m3 replica

Creating a replica of a e30 DTM racer what do I need?

So I have found out I need the following.

    E30 M3 body panels,
    • Rear quarters
    • rear panel (if post 87 base vehicle)
    • Front panel below the windscreen (is the roof and a pillars different also?)
    • Front wings
    • Rear bumper
    • Front bumper
    • Side skirts (very hard to get genuine but many fiberglass copies around)
    • Rear boot lid
    • C pilar (impossible to get genuine, but e30garage in Norway make reproductions in metal)
    • Glass for front and rear screen as different to standard e30
    Drive train
    • Swap to 5 lug axels
      • Use e30 M3 ones?
      • Use e36 hubs and rear setup from a e36 compact
      • Use z3m setup front and rear
      • Use e36 M3 front Evo hubs and e36 compact/z3 rear axle
    Convert to DTM
    • Front suspension connections
    • Rear trailing arms
    • Relocate fuel tank to boot (where spare wheel is)
    • Roll cage
    Homologacion for the street
    • Issues with roll cage, some countries dont allow them on the street.
    • Fuel tank in boot, would need to open boot to refil
    • Hard suspension, not lots of travel
    • interior stripped due to roll cage
    Questions
    • Can the roll cage be built like the RUF Porsches. (integrated to body shell)
    • Some of the panels maybe need to be fiber glass

At present the front wings from the eco 3 sports are available in BMW dealers to order, also some of the inner rear arches are also available.

        Sure front wings
        • 41352233019
        • 41352233020
Then 41001943993 for the rear quarter, and 41141945714 for the inner arch for the opposite side.

Bootlid 51171965010 also supposedly is available but I have not checked that part with BMW recently.

Rear panel is 41341959874, but currently out of stock, and no estimated delivery date.
